Psychology of Teaching Yoga

  • Beverly Yoga Center

The Psychology of Teaching Yoga is an experiential weekend steeped in the importance of understanding one’s personal inner body and journey. In developing your own curiosity and understanding of your inner experience and what you bring to teaching supports your yogic path and the safe unfolding of your students’ experience in class. We will discuss and practice several themes integral in understanding and relating to your inner experience throughout the weekend. These themes will translate to a deeper understanding of how you connect, communicate and support your students. Experiential practices will include meditation, guided and self lead yoga practices, restorative poses, reflective inquiry, and dyads.

Core Themes

  • Understand the essence of developing a personal inquiry process

  • Develop a context to navigate your
inner body when challenges arise before, during or after class

  • Clarifying and shaping your intention as a student and teacher of yoga

  • Develop and learning to trust your “felt sense”

  • Understand your subtle and energy body and how it translates to teaching

Saturday & Sunday March 28th & 29th

Saturday – 2:00pm-7:00pm
Sunday – 10:00am-4:00pm
